Reorganisation of the  Board of Directors

Neptune Minerals Plc (AIM: NPM) announces a reorganisation of the board of directors.

Mr. Peter Vanderspuy resigned from the board, effective May 2nd 2008.  The Company is grateful to Mr. Vanderspuy for the role that he played as the Company’s founding Chairman.

In the short term the role of Chairman will be assumed by Mr. John Goodwin, Neptune’s UK-based independent Non-Executive director.

At the same time Neptune is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard K Gorton to fill the casual vacancy as a Non-Executive Director, effective as of May 5th 2008.

Mr. Gorton has 38 years of experience in the international mining industry including South Africa, Australia and North America involving exploration, operations and business development. He holds an MSc in Geology on the Kielder VMS deposit discovered by his Newmont team in South Africa.

From 1973 to 1986, he directed exploration activities for Newmont South Africa Ltd in the search for gold, base metals, diamonds and uranium. From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Gorton was Chief Geologist at the Telfer Gold Mine in Western Australia and, between 1990 and 1994, was Great Basin Exploration Manager and later Newmont’s Director, Exploration North America.

From 1994 to 2005, Mr. Gorton was Director of Exploration and Business Development for Newmont Mining Corporation. He was awarded the Chairman’s Award in 1996 for the successful acquisition and development of the True North gold deposit in Alaska.

Mr. Gorton retired in 2005 but continues as a consultant to Newmont. In 2005 Mr. Gorton also co-founded BWG Mining which applies supervised Neural Network technology to multiple exploration data sets targeting new discoveries.

Mr. Gorton will provide guidance to management on the growth of the Company and its projects. In addition, he brings a wealth of industry contacts developed during his tenure in the minerals exploration industry.

The information required to be disclosed in accordance with the AIM rules, with respect to the appointment of Richard Gorton to the Neptune Board, is set out in Appendix 1.
